Plum Cake

Ingredients: 

  • 1 1/2 lb Butter
    • 

  • 1 lb Sugar
    • 

  • 12    Eggs
    • 

  • 1 lb Flour
    • 

  • 3 lb Raisins
    • 

  • 1 1/2 lb Currants
    • 

  • 1/2 lb Citron peel
    • 

  • 1/2 lb Lemon peel
    • 

  • 1 ts Cinnamon
    • 

  • 1 ts Allspice
    • 

  • 1/2 ts Mace
    • 

  • 1/2 ts Clove
    • 

  • 1    Nutmeg,grated
    • 

  • 3 tb Strawberry jam
    • 

  • 1/2 lb Almonds
    • 

  • 1 lb Dates
    • 

  • 1 tb Baking powder
    •

Directions: This is a copy of my grandmother’s handwritten recipe, from the
first quarter of this century. As with most of her other recipes, there are
no directions for either mixing or baking.
