Mrs. Field’s Chocolate Chip Cookies


Servings: 55
Ingredients:

  • 1 c  Butter
  • 1 c  Brown sugar
  • 1 c  Sugar
  • 2    Eggs
  • 1 t  Vanilla
  • 2 c  Flour
  • 2 1/2 c  Oatmeal *
  • 1/2 t  Salt
  • 1 t  Baking soda
  • 1 t  Baking powder
  • 12 oz Chocolate chips
  • 8 oz Hershey bar; grated
  • 1 1/2 c  Nuts; pecans or walnuts

Cream together butter and the 2 sugars. Add the 4
eggs and vanilla. Mix together flour, oatmeal*, salt
baking sada and baking powder. Mix all ingredients
together and add chocolate chips, hershey bar and
chopped nuts. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets
(Cushion Aire-insulated the best so the cookies don’t
burn). Make golf-ball size cookies, spaced 2′ apart.
Bake at 375-degrees for 6 minutes. Makes 112 cookies.
* Oatmeal: put small amounts of oatmeal into blender
on high until it turns to powder. Measure first, then
blend.
